Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is being considered as Nagar Palika Chunav or Nagar Nigam as well. MCD elections are commenced generally in every 5 years in order to decide a figure for the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor in the capital city of India, Delhi. The last elected period of Mayors and Deputy Mayors will be completed during the first quarter of 2017. So, obvious, elections are on the edge, while people of Delhi will elect their representative once again in 2017. The election dates, candidate’s name, nomination, polling schedule, results all such things will be controlled by the Election Commission of India.

Delhi MCD Elections 2017 Dates:

The largest civic board of Delhi is MCD which is on the verge of the election in coming April. The eight districts of Delhi are under the control of MCD, which is an autonomous body, has the power to select the figure of councillor through elections. Near about 11 million people of Delhi are served by MCD and that’s why the forthcoming date of the election is so important in this regard.

The election of Delhi Municipal Corporation is expected to be held during the month of April, this year. The election commission will release the date soon. After the official announcement by EC, you will get every detail on this page. The interested and deserving candidates can apply the nomination form in order to meet the contest in Delhi MCD elections. It is to be noted that, the candidates need to fill the respective forms and have to complete the relevant paper works within the prescribed date. The motivated candidate will be allowed to register as an independent figure without any support from a party.

Delhi MCD Elections 2017 Polling Schedule:

The complete polling schedule is described below with detail information. The schedule has been announced by the Election Commission including the dates of polls, counting of votes, notification issuing and so on. Because of the collision between XII standard examinations and polling day, the election commission has changed the schedule with better compatibility.

  1. Delhi MCD election will be held on 23rd April.
  2. Counting will begin from 25th April.
  3. The result of this election will be displayed by 26th April 2017.
  4. The process of nomination and relevant paper works will start from 27th March and will finish on 3rd April 2017.
  5. The final scrutiny of submitted papers and nominations will be commenced on 5th April 2017.
  6. The election is being held in between 272 wards and the last date of nomination withdrawal for those 272 wards is 8th April.
  7. The completion date of the election process is 5th May 2017 declared by Election Commission.

Delhi MCD Elections Candidates List 2017:

Delhi MCD is divided into three parts such as East, North and South.  Different parties can raise their candidates from different wards but have to win with a majority of 51 %.

After winning the Assembly polls, AAP is looking forward to procuring a thumping win in Delhi MCD election. They have already announced the name of 262 candidates in four attempts.

Swaraj India Party (SIP) is also eyeing for a powerful foundation in Delhi MCD by disclosing their first list of candidate’s names on 22nd February 2017. That list consists of total 109 aspirant candidates. SIP will announce another list of candidates very soon.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not revealed any list till today.

Very much alike, Indian National Congress (INC) will release their first list of candidates for Delhi MCD election very soon.

Apart from these parties, JDU, NCP, RJD, BSP and few others will appear in the coming election. JDU leader Nitish Kumar has announced the very first list of aspirants on 16th March 2017.

Delhi MCD Elections Result 2017:

The result of Delhi MCD election is expected to be released b y 26th April 2017. Small and large parties are trying hard to leave their footmark in this election. Whereas, INC or congress party was left zero last time in Assembly polls, are trying their best to raise their heads in MCD election. BJP was also left with two seats only but they managed to bring the major results in their favour last time in Delhi MCD elections 2012.
